Shettihalli Rosary Church - Best Pre-Wedding Photoshoot location

Shettihalli Rosary Church is an old ruined church located near Hassan in Karnataka, built back in the 19th century by French missionaries. The church sits right along the banks of the Hemavathi Reservoir, which drastically changes how the site looks depending on when you visit during the year. During the monsoon and post-monsoon months, the rising water levels submerge a large portion of the structure, leaving only the upper arches and spire rising out of the water. In the dry season, as the water recedes, you can walk right up to the bare brickwork, open doorways, and exposed stone columns. The roof has long since collapsed, allowing natural daylight to stream straight through the structural frame. The surrounding countryside is mostly flat and open, giving you wide views of the sky and the water without modern buildings getting in the way. The bare stone arches and open layout make this location easy to use for a pre-wedding photoshoot. Because there are no doors or enclosed rooms, natural light moves through the ruins all day, giving photographers plenty of choices for framing portraits.
